CHOCOLATE ORANGE TAHINI SQUARES RECIPE

Updated: May 18, 2023

Sweet, salty, fruity, creamy, chocolate-y. These fudge like squares have got it all going on.
Chocolate Orange Tahini Squares

Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds + if you have a jar in your cupboard it has most likely been bought to make homemade hummus.

But it works beautifully here in this sweet treat, but you could substitute it for another "mild" tasting seed butter or cashew nut butter. Almond or peanut would have too strong a flavour.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tbsp Dark chocolate

  • 140g Light Tahini

  • 4 tbsp honey

  • 3 tbsp Coconut oil melted

  • 1 tbsp orange essence (is best) or the juice of 1/2 orange

  • Zest orange

Step 1: Pulse

Start by pulsing the dark chocolate in a blender until you get rubble, ( hand method: or finely chop + add to a bowl.)

Step 2: Mix

Then add all the rest of the ingredients to the blender or bowl (except the orange zest) and mix until combined

Step 3: Chill

Pour the fudge into a small aluminium foil tin (250ml size) or container of similar size lined with cling film so that you can lift out the fudge when it is set. Top with the orange zest. Pop the lid on and chill for 3-4 hours until set.

Step 4: Serve

Cut into squares and enjoy. This a great treat to have in when that sweet tooth urge strikes.
